How to Reach Pondicherry

by Air: Pondicherry does not have any airport with in its boundary. But it lies very close to Chennai, which has an international airport. Chennai is accessible from all over the country. Almost all public and private airlines operate regular flights to and from Chennai.

by Road: A good road network, originating from National Highway 45, covers Pondicherry. The most convenient way to Pondicherry is either from Chennai (150kms) and Bangalore (320kms).

Red Bus service charge only Rs 300/- for one way transfer to Pondicherry and vice versa in an airconditioned coach. ( it takes 4 hrs). The private taxis will be very expensive ( Rs 2000-3000) one way transfer to Pondicherry.

Buses leave from Chennai at the Tamil Nadu State Express Bus Stand (also known as the Thiruvalluvur Bus Stand ) at Parry's Corner regularly and take about four hours to reach Pondicherry bus stand. For the tourist who want to enjoy the journey the East Coast Road is more scenic than National Highway 45 through Tindivanam.

by Rail: The nearest railhead is Villupuram (36 kms), which is connected to Chennai and Madurai / Trivandrum. One can also take a train from Bangalore to Cuddalore and then reach Pondicherry by road.

The range of hotels and guest houses are between Rs 1200 - 10000. These are located 2-10 kms from the conference Venue. Since February will be peak season, guests are requested to get the timely rooms reservations.
